It's a Bacchetta Giro recumbent from Stuart at BikeFix and it's really comfy with two 26" wheels and a Rohloff 14-speed hub gear.  Here we are together in Bartoszyce, Poland:

A friend has likened this bike to a mobile sun-lounger which, in fine weather, is a pretty accurate description.  Comfort is a major consideration when planning to ride 120+ miles per day for 6 months.  The furthest I ever rode an upright "sticky" bike was LEL, 1400km over 5 days, and frankly that was enough, you can imagine the gory details... RTW is over 20 times that distance.

This pic, courtesy of Bacchetta, shows one of their models leading the peloton

Here is a Raptobike I tested earlier, thanks to Stuart at BikeFix

  1. You won't regret the Rohloff :-) I have one on my Trice and love it.

    1. thanks for that comment and vote of confidence in my choice of equipment!
